Job summary

Alpine Valley Post Acute & Healthcare Center is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming floors throughout the facility. The role covers stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and extraction using industry-grade equipment.

You will ensure proper disposal of waste and adherence to infection control guidelines while supporting broader environmental services operations. Qualified candidates may have prior Floor Technician experience and knowledge of floor care

Qualifications

• Experience as Floor Technician or in environmental services preferred.
• Familiarity with floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures due to physical/environmental risks.
• Attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care procedures including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing of hard floors.
• Operate floor care equipment safely to clean and maintain surfaces.
• Clean carpeted and upholstered surfaces; shampooing, vacuuming, damp cleaning, and extraction.
• Conduct routine maintenance and restorative care for all floor types to keep facility polished.
• Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements during duties.
• Properly collect and dispose of municipal, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste per standards.
• Report maintenance or safety hazards to supervision promptly.
• Support housekeeping and environmental services operations as needed.

Responsibilities for Floor Technician:

• Perform proper floor care procedures, including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing of hard surface floors.
• Operate industrial floor care equipment safely and effectively to clean and maintain all types of floor surfaces.
• Clean and maintain carpeted and upholstered surfaces using appropriate methods, including shampooing, vacuuming, spot cleaning, damp cleaning, and extraction.
• Perform routine maintenance and restorative care for all floor types to ensure a clean, safe, and polished appearance throughout the facility.
• Follow all safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory requirements while performing duties.
• Properly collect, handle, and dispose of municipal solid waste, infectious waste, and pharmaceutical waste in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
• Report any maintenance, safety hazards, or equipment issues promptly to supervisory staff.
• Support overall housekeeping and environmental services operations as needed to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.

Qualifications for Floor Technician:

• Previous experience as a Floor Technician or in a related environmental services role preferred.
• Working knowledge of floor care equipment, chemicals, and maintenance techniques preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use appropriate precautions due to physical and environmental risks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
