Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care tasks safely according to standards and procedures. The role includes waxing, stripping, buffing, and related environmental services as needed, while following safety rules and maintaining a clean work area.

Shifts are Mon–Fri, 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, with a pay rate of $16.00–$17.00 per hour. SBM offers comprehensive benefit packages and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential duties safely and satisfactorily as assigned.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Work with a team to complete assignments and maintain a clean work area.
• Operate motorized floor cleaning equipment and maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.

Title: Floor Technician Job Description:

Job Overview The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”.
• Ability to work without normal supervision.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.

Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• May be required to have a valid driver’s license
• Complete all safety and task training certification
• May be required to be forklift certified

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
