Job summary

Pacific West Site Services, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, and buffing, while following safety and company standards. You will work with a team to complete assignments and maintain a clean work area.

The role requires operating cleaning equipment and providing daily upkeep of assigned areas. Shift is Mon-Fri, 2:30pm-11:00pm, with pay of $17.25 to $18.25 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic instructions, procedures, and safety manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for teamwork.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and proper use of equipment.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at risk behaviors.
• Work with team to complete assignments and maintain a clean area.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain daily upkeep.
• Perform floor care including cleaning of tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
• Report safety hazards and follow lead/supervisor directions.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct with customers.

Floor Technician

Job Overview

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self
• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor"
• Ability to work without normal supervision
• Report safety hazards as appropriate

Qualification

Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license Complete all safety and task training certification May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
