Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP in Framingham, MA is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, and buffing, and to clean and maintain all floor surfaces (tile, carpet, brick) in accordance with established standards, safety rules, and procedural guidelines.

You will work with a team, follow directions from supervisors, report hazards, and ensure a clean, safe work area at all times while using the appropriate chemicals, equipment, and PPE to deliver

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care tasks (waxing, stripping, buffing) per standards and procedures.
• Follow safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Floor Technician

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”.
• Ability to work without normal supervision.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.

Qualification

• Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Complete all safety and task training certification.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to be forklift certified.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Compensation and Shift

Monday-Friday:1:30pm-10:00pm $22.00-$23.00 per hour
