Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care operations including waxing, stripping and buffing. You will follow safety rules, maintain clean work areas and operate floor cleaning equipment while coordinating with the shift lead and teammates.

The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, and understand reporting systems and safety procedures. Shifts run evenings, with compensation per hour and SBM benefits.

Qualifications

  • Reading and interpreting instructions, procedures, manuals and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care operations such as waxing, stripping and buffing.
  • Follow safety rules and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and report hazards.
  • Operate and maintain floor cleaning equipment safely.
  • Interact professionally with lead, supervisors, coworkers and customers.

Floor Technician Job Description

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
  • Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
  • Perform repetitive tasks.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Take direction and respond to supervision.
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
  • Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
  • Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks.
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct.
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.
  • Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring.
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
  • Use and maintain equipment properly.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
  • Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor".
  • Ability to work without normal supervision.
  • Report safety hazards as appropriate.
Qualification

Education and / or Experience
  • No education requirement.
  • 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license.
  • Complete all safety and task training certification.
  • May be required to be forklift certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
  • Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Shift & Compensation

5:00 pm -1:30am Monday to Friday 4:00 PM -2:30AM-TH (Track B, every other Friday off) $23.60 - $24.60hr
