Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician to safely perform floor care tasks including waxing, stripping, buffing, and related duties in accordance with regulations. The role includes environmental services as needed and requires adherence to safety standards while maintaining a clean work area.

Shifts are Sunday-Thursday, 5pm–1:30am, with a pay range of $16.75–$17.75 per hour. No formal education is required; 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred, and forklift certification

Qualifications

• No education requirement; 6 mo–1 year experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license; safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self
• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Maintain clean work area
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
• Take direction and respond to supervision
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks
• Present a professional appearance and conduct
• Understand customer service and satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs “wet floor”
• Ability to work without normal supervision
• Report safety hazards as appropriate

Job Overview

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
