Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care functions including waxing, stripping, buffing, and related duties per standards. The role requires adhering to safety rules and working with a team to maintain floors across tile, carpet, and brick surfaces.

Responsibilities include operating motorized cleaning equipment, presenting a professional appearance, and following all procedures.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred.
• May require valid driver's license; safety training certification; forklift certification may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; willingness to share with team.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe use.

Job Overview

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly.
• Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
• Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs 'wet floor'.
• Work independently without normal supervision.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education and/or experience: No education requirement; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred or equivalent combination.
• Certificates, licenses, registrations: May be required to have a valid driver’s license; complete all safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Work requires sitting, talking, listening, and frequent movement.

Compensation And Shift

Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
Pay: $19.00 per hour
