Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Floor Technician to perform floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping and buffing in a safe and efficient manner. You will follow established procedures and maintain clean work areas while complying with safety rules.

The role requires teamwork, responsiveness to supervision, and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. The position operates Mon-Fri from 4:30PM to 1AM, offering a competitive hourly wage and a benefits package.

Qualifications

  • No formal education requirement; 6 months to 1 year experience preferred or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures and manuals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safe handling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care tasks including waxing, stripping and buffing.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow safety rules.
  • Follow company procedures, policies and reporting systems.
  • Work with team to complete assignments and respond to supervision.
  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain equipment safely.

Floor Technician

Job Overview The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Maintain clean work area
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner
  • Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance
  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items
  • Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.
  • Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment
  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring
  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
  • Use and maintain equipment properly
  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely
  • Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor"\
  • Ability to work without normal supervision
  • Report safety hazards as appropriate
Qualification
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and/ or Experience: No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's license Complete all safety and task training certification May be required to be forklift certified
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents Strong verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
  • Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Shifts and Compensation

Mon-Fri 4:30PM - 1AM $17-$18 per hour
