Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Floor Care.
  • Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
  • Experience in the use of floor-care equipment is helpful.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain all floor surfaces.
  • Buff and wax floors, strip and wax floors, top scrub and wax floors.
  • Extract and vacuum carpets as directed by Supervisor.
  • Use proper chemicals and equipment.
  • Report repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department.
  • Request supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
  • Identify and correct safety hazards and follow safety rules.
  • Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforce them.
  • Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
  • Ensure patient/resident safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
