Job summary

Merchants Building Maintenance is seeking a Waxer to perform comprehensive floor maintenance in diverse facilities across the region. The role requires a clean driving record and prior experience with floor cleaning equipment.

You will operate floor scrubbers, extractors and related tools, with responsibilities spanning vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and more, in settings such as offices, hospitals, warehouses or malls.

Qualifications

• Waxer position requires a clean driving record and prior experience.
• Experience operating floor cleaning equipment is essential.
• Must be flexible to work in various facilities as directed by a supervisor.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks as described.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor maintenance including vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets.
• Work in buildings, hospitals, warehouses, malls or other facilities as assigned.
• Operate floor scrubbers, burnishers and extractors safely and effectively.
• Follow supervisor directions and adhere to safety procedures.

Job Skills / Requirements

Waxer: Must Have A Clean Driving Record - Must have experience.

Waxers are responsible for Floor Maintenance, including but not limited to; vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery. The assigned work area could be inside a building, hospital, warehouse, shopping mall or other facility. Exact tasks of a Waxer are not definite, consequently, must be flexible in performing assigned duties as assigned by a Supervisor as mentioned below.

Possess considerable knowledge of the operation, use, and care of Floor Scrubbers , Side by Side, Burnisher, Vacuum Chariot, Extractors and Pressure Washer.

Essential Functions:

Sitting, walking, standing, bending (neck), bending waist), squatting, climbing, keeling, crouching, stooping, twisting (neck), twisting (waist), and talk or hear.

Repetitive use of hands to finger, arms (left and right) for:

Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls

Fine manipulation

Pushing

Pulling

Reaching (above and or below shoulder level with hands and arms)

Keyboarding with both hands

Lifting and Carrying object(s) from floor, table, and shelves over head or distance.

Working around equipment and machinery

Exposure to noise

Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, cleaning products and noise

Working at heights

Working with biohazards such us:

Blood borne pathogens, Sewage Hospital waste and others.Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects Indoor/ out-door work environment with exposure to weather extremes.
