Job summary

Florence Home in Omaha, NE is seeking a Lead Housekeeping/Laundry to oversee cleaning and laundry in our care community and supervise team members.

You will train new staff, adjust assignments, ensure high cleanliness standards, and interact with residents and families with a courteous service focus. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring English proficiency and a safety-conscious mindset.

LEAD HOUSEKEEPING/LAUNDRY

Join our team and make a positive difference every day! The Lead is responsible for providing housekeeping services for assigned areas of our Care Community and providing training and oversight for other members of the housekeeping and laundry team.

Duties Include:

• Adjust teamwork assignments as needed to meet priorities of the Care Community
• Interview and hire housekeeping/laundry staff
• Provide quality housekeeping and laundry services
• Clean assigned areas of the building including emptying trash, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, dusting, etc.
• Inspect work of housekeeping/laundry staff on a daily basis to ensure quality standards are being met and building is clean and presentable for our residents, their families, staff, and visitors.
• Train new laundry and housekeeping employees on processes, appropriate use of chemicals and equipment, and safety procedures
• Approve time in payroll system

Qualifications:

• Previous housekeeping, laundry, or janitorial experience is required
• Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong focus on customer service and the ability to establish rapport with housekeeping/laundry team, other staff, residents, and family members
• Ability to effectively organize own work as well as work of team so desired results are achieved.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
