Job summary

Glenaire is seeking a dependable Floor Tech to join our Environmental Services team. This hands-on role emphasizes floor care, heavy-duty cleaning, furniture moving, and maintaining high-traffic indoor and outdoor areas throughout our community.

You’ll help keep hallways, entrances, common spaces, balconies, windows and other areas clean, safe and welcoming for residents, visitors and teammates. If you take pride in doing physical work well, we’d love to meet you.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely move furniture and equipment.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for company vehicle assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy-duty cleaning throughout the community, including windows, balconies, outdoor spaces, entrances, hallways, stairways, elevators and other common areas.
  • Move furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning, floor care, events and room setup.
  • Clean and maintain hard floors, carpets and mats.
  • Set up appropriate caution and safety signage before beginning floor-care or cleaning tasks.
  • Clean walls, doors, door handles, baseboards, windows, light fixtures, vents, switches and other surfaces.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash, recycling and infectious waste according to facility procedures.
  • Clean and disinfect waste receptacles and replace liners.
  • Follow infection-control and safety procedures during all daily assignments.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, supplies and Environmental Services work areas in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Perform routine self-inspections to ensure work meets department standards.
  • Pick up recycling and transport it to designated collection areas.
  • Assist in laundry and other Environmental Services areas as needed.
  • Drive a company vehicle when assigned.
  • Participate in weekend and on-call schedules as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and improving services.

What We’re Looking For
  • Dependable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the shift

  • Able to follow safety, infection-control and cleaning procedures
  • Comfortable operating floor-care and commercial cleaning equipment
  • Team-oriented and willing to assist wherever needed
  • Able to manage time and complete assigned work efficiently
  • Professional and courteous when interacting with residents, visitors and teammates
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for company vehicle assignments

Experience with commercial floor care, carpet extraction, Environmental Services, housekeeping, custodial work or other heavy-duty cleaning is a plus, but we’re also open to dependable candidates who are willing to learn.
