Job summary

ServiceMaster Clean in Sterling, IL seeks a floor technician to clean, maintain, and repair carpeted and hard floor surfaces. You will perform sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing, and moving furniture as needed.

The role requires ability to operate various floor equipment, maintain supplies, use PPE, and work in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, and punctuality and dependability are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a floor tech is highly desired but not required.
• On the job training will be provided for those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and repair carpeted and hard floor surfaces using ServiceMaster tools and procedures.
• Perform floor cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing.
• Move furniture as needed and disinfect floors with sanitizer; spot clean; clean elevators and stairs.
• Open/lock facilities and manage security system as required.

Job Position Description:

This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures
• Duties include: sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampoo carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing. moving furniture, disinfect floors with sanitizer, spot cleaning, cleaning of elevators and stairs
• Must achieve thorough understanding of buffing, stripping floors , waxing, and identifying different flooring types.
• Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required

Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, reaching
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 55lbs.
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience as a floor tech is highly desired but not required·
• Will provide on the job training to those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• The ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace in a multi-tasked job is a must.
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude
