Royal Furniture Co in Montgomery, AL is hiring a Floor Person/Day Porter. This full-time role involves loading, unloading, assembling furniture, and performing basic cleaning and maintenance to keep the store in top condition.

You will interact with customers, move furniture on the showroom floor, assist with inventory, and ensure showroom floors are clean. Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 lbs, stand for long periods, and work a retail schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, lower, and push 100 lbs on a repetitive daily basis.
• Stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and reach as part of duties.
• Retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliability is essential; attendance is a key requirement.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers.

Floor Person/Floor Support

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Summary

The Floor Person/Day Porter position requires lifting, loading, unloading, and assembling furniture. In addition, individual will perform cleaning and basic maintenance duties to ensure a clean and properly maintained store.

Essential Functions

• Load and unload trailers.
• Load furniture and accessories in customer vehicles.
• Engage customers in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner; promptly and politely responds to customer inquiries, and customer requests.
• Assemble furniture.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Move and place furniture on the showroom floor.
• Assist with inventory control and processes.
• Keep the showroom clean and organized.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash and dispose in waste receptacles.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or supplies.
• Follows all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible to work a retail schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be reliable as attendance is an essential function of this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
