Job summary

Crate & Barrel is seeking a Distribution Center Floor Manager to lead daily operations, inspire the team, and balance the tactical and strategic sides of warehouse management.

You will optimize labor plans, monitor productivity, drive safety programs, participate in hiring and training, and partner with cross-functional teams to keep processes efficient and compliant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years distribution experience, 2 years supervisory experience.
• Associate’s Degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages labor plans to ensure staffing per budget and overtime targets.
• Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary.
• Leads safety observations, investigations and coaching on proper safety procedures.
• Participates in interviewing and hiring for distribution center associates.
• Ensures staff are properly trained and compliant with procedures.
• Acts as backup for other floor managers and leads continuous training on new systems.

The Distribution Center Floor Manager is a key leader responsible for managing daily operations. You will inspire and lead your team to meet short-term and long-term goals, enabling the execution of key initiatives. This role is perfect for a leader who is passionate about managing both the tactical and strategic sides of business operations.

A day in the life as a Floor Manager...

• Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor


• Ensures productivity measurement standards are met


• Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound and outbound processes


• Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary


• Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication


• Facilitates team meetings


• Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates


• Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained


• Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation


• Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures


• Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards


• Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.


• Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates


• Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary


• Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
