Job summary

Northgate Health Care Facility is seeking a dependable Floor Maintenance Technician to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff in North Tonawanda, NY. The role includes preserving and protecting floor surfaces and supporting environmental services operations.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, work orders, exterior maintenance, and safety inspections. Benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision insurance, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of cleaning/maintenance experience; 1 year preferred.
• Valid NYS driver's license required.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, tools, and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and general upkeep throughout the facility and grounds.
• Complete work orders and non-routine projects (painting, drywall, floor care, repairs).
• Maintain exterior areas and assist with snow removal and salting as needed.
• Transport trash, soiled linens, and other materials as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards promptly.
• Assist with facility security and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide transportation using facility vehicles when assigned.
