Summary
The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by store management, including cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities. They work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates, and provide leadership.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service
- Answer questions about the store and merchandise
- Recommend, help locate, or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobe experience
- Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing this with the team
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices
- Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to store sales targets
- Provide excellent service throughout the store, including fitting rooms and the register area
- Understand and communicate exchange and return procedures effectively
- Utilize the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals
- Participate in Buckle business builders and guest loyalty programs
- Expand Guest selection through inventory management tools
- Build and maintain good Guest relationships to develop a client-based business
- Lead by example with showmanship, customer service, and attentiveness
- Recognize Guest levels and communicate with the team
- Ask business-driven questions to Managers and Team Leaders
- Be coachable and perform leadership actions consistently
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities and utilize referral tools
- Assist in training and motivating new Teammates
- Create a positive floor culture with a positive attitude
- Demonstrate and promote current fashion and dress code
- Participate in daily setup, training, and review sessions
- Motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks
- Show passion for denim showmanship and fit cards
- Lead in your department and complete mid-week check-ins
- Demonstrate leadership during segment activities, including engaging Guests and updating the team
Visual Merchandise Management
- Own product zones, including knowledge, placement, and lifecycle management
- Assign zones and projects with specific learning goals
- Ensure Visual Standards are followed and update visual displays regularly
- Recognize merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations
- Conduct informational store tours and ensure freight is displayed properly
Operations
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Utilize planners and complete opening/closing checklists
- Recognize and prevent security risks and thefts
- Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and POS procedures
- Handle calls professionally and manage returns/exchanges per guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment
- Communicate policy violations and concerns confidentially
Supervisory and Leadership
- Give and receive feedback professionally
- Support leadership initiatives and promote store growth
- Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with teammates
- Perform job duties with high customer service standards and team spirit
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related retail experience or equivalent.
Physical Demands
Regular standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
Work Environment
Primarily in a retail store setting with moderate noise levels.
