Job summary

Floor Coverings International of Northbrook, IL is hiring experienced flooring installers to join our service-minded team. You will install carpet using stretch-in and glue-down methods, including broadloom and carpet tile, while performing prep, seaming, trimming, and finishing with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5 years in professional flooring installation.
• Must own all necessary trade tools and equipment for flooring installation.
• Valid driver’s license and clean, reliable vehicle.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Install carpet using stretch-in and glue-down methods for residential and commercial projects.
• Perform prep work: tack strip, cushion, seam sealing, subfloor readiness.
• Execute seaming, trimming, and finishing with high attention to detail.
• Handle demo and removal of existing flooring as needed.
• Daily and final cleanup of the job site to company standards.
• Maintain safe, organized, and efficient work practices; travel throughout the week.

Requirements:

• Install carpet using stretch-in and glue-down methods, including broadloom and carpet tile.
• Perform proper prep including tack strip, cushion, seam sealing, and subfloor readiness.
• Execute seaming, trimming, and finishing work with high attention to detail.
• Handle demo and removal of existing flooring as needed
• Daily and final cleanup of the job site to company standards.
• Keep tools organized and clean and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Ensure safe, organized, and efficient work practices at all times.
• Ensure high quality company standards are met every time.
• Job requires travel throughout the week.

Additionally:

• You must review and understand the scope of work of the project before you get there and familiarize yourself with the project file
• Have knowledge of units of measurement and able to complete needed math calculations.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and polite manner. Work to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with every aspect of the job.
• Prefer experience with residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications:
