Job summary

Floor Coverings International of East Middle Michigan is seeking experienced flooring installation contractors to join our team on a subcontract basis. As a front-line installer, you will prepare subfloors, install flooring, finish trim, and deliver high-quality craftsmanship in customers' homes.

This 1099 position pays per job, with typical earnings ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 per week. Travel throughout the week is required, and a valid driver's license plus reliable transport are needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in flooring installation.
• Carpet installation experience is a plus.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transport.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites.
• Physical ability to crouch, squat, stand, walk and lift.

Responsibilities

• Prep subfloors, install flooring, finish trim per company procedures with high attention to detail and care.
• Keep tools organized and clean; maintain a safe work environment.
• Understand the scope of the project before arrival and review the project file.
• Properly handle company machinery and power tools.
• Take measurements and perform basic math calculations accurately.
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner in the home.
• Ensure high-quality company standards are met on every job.
• Strive for high customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job.
• Travel throughout the week to different job locations.

Compensation

This job is a 1099 subcontracting position. This means pay is based per job and offers the average installer the opportunity to earn between $1,500 and $3,000 per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Prep subfloors, install flooring , finish trim in steps according to company's procedures with high attention to detail and care
• Keep tools organized and clean and maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Understanding the scope of work of the project before you get there and familiarize yourself with the project file
• Responsible to properly handle company machinery and power tools
• Knowledge of units of measurement and able to complete simple math calculations
• Interact with customers in a friendly and polite manner, must be trustworthy and comfortable in a customer's home
• Ensure high-quality company standards are met every time
• Work to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with every aspect of the job
• Job requires travel throughout the week

Qualifications

• Experience in flooring installation
• If you have Carpet install experience this is a big plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport vehicle
• The position requires repetitive crouching, squatting, standing, walking and lifting
• This position travels to various work locations throughout the week
