Job summary

Floor Coverings International of Downers Grove is seeking independent contractor flooring installers in Downers Grove, IL. Apply with your specialty in floating floors, carpet, tile, hardwood, or sand & finish.

You will quote and complete full jobs, not hourly, using your own tools and vehicle. You must have at least 5 years of installation experience, read and follow installation instructions, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional installation experience in your specialty.
• Own transportation to job sites across DuPage County and the western Chicago suburbs.
• Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation instructions and work orders.
• Willingness to pass a background check and maintain valid credentials.
• Reliable communication and scheduling; represent the company in customers' homes.

Responsibilities

• Install flooring across specialties (Floating floors, carpet, tile, hardwood, sand & finish) per specs.
• Protect customer homes, maintain cleanliness, and ensure quality workmanship.
• Coordinate with customers on pricing and job expectations, as applicable.

Trades Needed We're hiring independent contractor installers in the following specialties:

Floating Floors (LVP, laminate)

Carpet

Tile

Hardwood

Sand & Finish

You don't need experience in all five - indicate the specialty (or specialties) you install when you apply. We especially value deep, specialized expertise - installers who are true masters of their craft in one category - but we're glad to hear from those skilled across a couple of these as well.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Jobs are priced per piece/task by area, and installers agree to a total job price before work begins - you're quoting and completing full jobs, not working hourly.

Requirements

Own tools and reliable vehicle
