Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to engineer and checkout modular data-center controls on the Phoenix line. You’ll own PLCs, BMS integration, sensors, and I/O from panel to termination, ensuring smooth first articles and on-floor issue resolution.

You'll operate in a fast-paced, high-automation environment, iterating quickly while preserving configuration control. On-site work with a focus on reliability and rapid deployment to support production launches and scale.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience engineering or commissioning controls systems (PLC, BMS, or industrial automation).
• Experience performing point-to-point checkout on real panels at volume.
• Shop floor or production line experience with on-the-spot disposition of nonconformances.
• Supported production launches or startups of systems you helped build.
• Able to iterate quickly while maintaining configuration control across drawings, wiring, and logic.
• Ability to write logic and stand at the cabinet proving every point.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and check out the controls of the modular product on the line, PLCs, BMS integration, sensors, and I/O.
• Live on the Phoenix manufacturing line: walk the floor daily, catch wiring and I/O issues at the station where they happen, and disposition them on the spot.
• Run point-to-point checkout, loop checks, and first-article functional tests in person as units come down the line, with results documented well enough to stand behind at handoff.
• Own real-time controls support for the factory: answer controls RFIs same-day from the floor and engineer fixes into the next revision, not a punch list.
• Close the loop to design: feed what the line learns back into wiring diagrams, logic, and the BOM so the same defect never ships twice.
