Summary

Job Title: Floor Crew Member

Department: Floors

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Detroit Lakes, MN

Status: Full Time

Starting Wage: $19.05/hr

Summary

The Floor Crew Member assists in the construction, repair, and maintenance of rough wooden frames for housing structures. This role ensures each floor frame is built to specifications while working in a controlled environment.

Essential Functions
  • Construct and repair rough wooden frames on an assembly table
  • Utilize power drills to bore holes in timber
  • Install floor and rim joists
  • Cut or saw timbers, boards, and plywood to desired sizes with handsaws and power saws
  • Use nails, bolts, and glue to secure flooring to wood structures
  • Inspect and assemble materials to specified standards
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand requirements
  • Follow all safety policies, including wearing PPE
  • May be cross-trained into other departments to ensure job knowledge progression
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and occasional manufacturing area exposure requiring safety glasses and hearing protection.

Physical Demands

The role involves lifting objects up to 80 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing physical labor, requiring good manual dexterity and stamina.

Position Type/Hours

Full-time, Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with possible evening work.

Travel

Travel is not typically expected.
