Job Title: Floor Crew Member

Department: Floors

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Detroit Lakes, MN

Status: Full Time

Starting Wage: $19.05/hr

Job Description

The Floor Crew Member assists in the construction, repair, and maintenance of rough wooden frames for housing structures. This role ensures each floor frame is built to specifications in a controlled environment.

Essential Functions

• Construct and repair rough wooden frames on an assembly table
• Utilize power drills to bore holes in timber
• Install floor and rim joists
• Cut or saw timbers, boards, and plywood to desired sizes using handsaws and power saws
• Use nails, bolts, and glue to secure flooring to wood structures
• Inspect and assemble materials to specified standards
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand requirements
• Follow all safety policies, including wearing PPE
• May be cross-trained into other departments for skill development
• Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and noise levels are usually moderate. Safety glasses and hearing protection may be required in manufacturing areas.

Physical Demands

The role involves lifting objects up to 80 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing physical labor in a climate-controlled environment. Good manual dexterity and stamina are essential.

Position Details

Type/Hours: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with possible evening hours.

Travel: Not expected.
