Job summary

Outreach Development Corp. in Brentwood, NY seeks a Milieu/Floor Counselor to deliver long-term supervision and clinical services to adults with substance use disorders.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, conducting screenings, facilitating groups, and ensuring safety and documentation. The ideal candidate will have a CASAC-T or higher certification, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience, including in OASAS-funded settings.

Qualifications

• CASAC-T; CASAC, or higher certification preferred.
• 1 year of experience working with clients with substance abuse disorders.
• 1 year of experience in an OASAS funded facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initial and ongoing screening of resident and resident property in accordance with unit procedure.
• Facilitate group counseling formats on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner and documents client’s progress through the use of group notes.
• Supervise clients in self-medication (under supervision).
• Communicate all pertinent information, incidents and emergencies using the appropriate system including the SAC communication log, incident reports and 24 hour on-call supervisor.
• Provide crisis interventions and follow up including documentation of the incident, accident and/or elopement reports.
• Overall supervision and management of client population in the facilitation of the daily house schedule.
• Use agency vehicles (15-passenger van, or car) to provide transportation to required appointments
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $21.00 To $30.00 Hourly

The Milieu/ Floor Counselor is responsible for the delivery and implementation of long term supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent adults with co-occurring and mental health problems. The Milieu/ Floor Counselor serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
