Riverview Health Group is seeking a Floor Care Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment at the Grosse Pointe Woods community. You will perform daily housekeeping tasks including sweeping, disinfecting, waxing, buffing, and restocking supplies.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preferred experience in institutional housekeeping. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success in this team-driven setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year experience in housekeeping preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning and floor care equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of care to various floors/types of surfaces and cleaning materials preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly cleans designated floor areas by sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, disinfecting, waxing, buffing, etc.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of floor care supplies.
  • Dusts furniture, tables, window ledges, lights, beds, and other areas as assigned.
  • Cleans, washes, and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and floors.
  • Spot cleans walls, doors, table tops, windows, floors, and registers.
  • Cleans vacant rooms as assigned.
  • Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are in proper working order.
  • Reports any damage or repairs needed to facilities, supplies, or equipment.

Floor Care Associate

The Floor Care Associate performs the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with company standards and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure that the community is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

Qualifications
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law for abusing, mistreating, or neglecting individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
  • Utilizes effective time management skills.
Education and/or Experience
  • Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy. Prior floor care associate experience in an institutional setting is preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One (1) year experience in housekeeping is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning, some knowledge or use of floor machines, burnishers, and carpet cleaners is preferred
  • Knowledge of care to various types of floors/surfaces and the appropriate cleaning materials and equipment to use is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
