Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas is seeking a Full-Time Floor Tech to support environmental services across the facility. This daytime role focuses on cleaning, safety, and maintaining high hygiene standards in patient and public areas.

Compensation is based on experience, with trainees starting at $18.00 per hour. Applicants should have 1+ year floor tech experience, be able to work with ladders, and operate floor care equipment in a safe, efficient manner.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to communicate in English, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a mouse and keyboard or other appropriate input methods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to climb and work on a ladder, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Knowledge of floor care maintenance processes.
• Ability to safely use equipment related to the care of floor surfaces, including but not limited to commercial rotary machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums, and floor burnishers, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Demonstrates knowledge of environmental services equipment and chemicals used in the department.
• Ability to assess, correct, and maintain various floor surfaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts to staff shortages and covers other assigned areas, as needed.
• Properly uses personal protective equipment.
• Analyzes carpeted and hard surface floors and applies correct maintenance procedures.
• Performs cleaning functions using the department approved process in all assigned areas.
• Monitors and reports any equipment issues or shortages and stocks supplies.
