Job summary

The Rehabilitation Center of Independence is seeking a hardworking housekeeping team member to support daily cleaning and maintenance across the facility. You will follow supervisor instructions to clean floors, wash and seal surfaces, and ensure rooms and common areas are sanitary and orderly.

Responsibilities include assisting with laundry, performing routine maintenance tasks, and coordinating with staff on environmental service requests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of work experience in a commercial establishment with knowledge of laundry/housekeeping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows supervisor assignments and schedule to wash, seal, wax and buff floors.
• Performs maintenance tasks like checking/replacing light bulbs and cleaning lint from dryers, vents, and registers.
• Cleans and disinfects fixtures, floors, walls, doors, and ceilings; polishes surfaces and maintains clean furnishings.
• Handles general housekeeping duties in offices, restrooms, activity rooms, kitchens, entrances, and utility areas.
• Works with residents and staff to address environmental services requests and infection prevention.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance tasks as defined in the environmental program.
• Obtains room readiness lists and manages prospective admissions/discharges for clean rooms.
• Monitors cleaning products, inventories stock, and uses equipment safely.
• Supports housekeeping and laundry departments to meet center needs.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
