Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on activities related to support services functions, such as dietary and food services, environmental services, general facilities, repair and maintenance, parking, sterilization, and transportation. The goal is to ensure all support activities are completed timely and meet quality standards. Additionally, the role involves environmental research to develop methods for controlling or minimizing environmental damage and improving restorative activities. It supports daily business activities in a hands-on environment, mainly delivering support services under supervision. This is an experienced role requiring basic knowledge of procedures and tools, obtained through work experience or vocational education, working under moderate supervision with routine problem-solving and communication tasks.

Job Overview

Under general supervision, performs project duties such as floor refinishing, rug and upholstery shampooing, and wall washing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three (3) months housekeeping experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Removes top layers of wax from floors using roto machine with appropriate chemicals and tools.
2. Shampoos and spot cleans carpets with roto machine, chemicals, and tools.
3. Washes walls regularly using appropriate chemicals and tools.
4. Changes cubicle curtains and drapes in patient areas and offices.
5. Uses chemicals and tools to clean and disinfect walls, floors, furniture, and changes cubicles and drapes as assigned, following departmental procedures for precaution cleaning.
6. Moves furniture and equipment during cleaning duties.
7. Completes project work forms indicating time, location, and work done.

Physical Requirements

• Works in patient areas, offices, and public areas, with some contact with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, blood, body waste, chemicals, and waste.
• Possibility of cuts, needle punctures, and muscle strains.
• Occasional exposure to hazards causing injury or illness.
• Majority of shift spent standing or walking.
• Reaching, stretching, and bending during work.
• Physical effort handling supplies and furniture up to 80 lbs.
• On-the-job training may be provided.

Skills & Abilities

• Basic reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
• Ability to operate mechanical cleaning devices like rotos, vacuums, and compactors.
• Familiarity with heavy-duty electrical cleaning equipment.
• Ability to interact cooperatively with staff, visitors, and patients.
