Job summary

The Facilities Group National is hiring a Floor Tech for the morning shift in Brookshire, TX. You will keep our facilities’ floors clean by dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet spot removal, and you will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, and vacuums while wearing PPE.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, prior janitorial or floor care experience, knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment, and the ability to pass a background check.

• Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
• Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
• Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
• Operating floor equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
• Use hand and power tools such as floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, mops, floor strippers.
• Inspect floors for any damage and carrying out minor repairs.
• Measuring chemicals correctly.
• Operating chemical dispensing units.
• Labeling chemicals correctly.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
• Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Assisting with the hazardous waste collection as requested by your supervisor.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for an energetic floor technician to keep our facilities’ floors clean. You will be responsible for maintaining all floor areas and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. You will be responsible for dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, remove spots from carpets, perform bonnet and carpet extraction cleaning, dispose of trash, and assist with hazardous waste collection. You will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and you will wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.
