Job summary

University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Floor Care Specialist to provide preventative and restorative maintenance for campus floors. You will operate floor care equipment, strip and re-wax surfaces, and perform carpet maintenance in academic and research buildings, following safety protocols.

Essential duties include emergency response during floods or incidents, documenting inspections, and coordinating with Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• Must be a Colorado resident to apply.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• 6 months experience with restorative floor work duties.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing; read lab safety signs and postings.

Responsibilities

• Restorative floor care and maintenance across campus (carpet, tile, NORA floors).
• Use specialized floor care equipment (carpet extractors, buffers, scrubbers).
• Strip and re-wax tile flooring; maintain inspection records; post safety signage.
• Respond to emergencies and perform essential service duties when needed.
• Perform minor repairs to floor surfaces and report equipment issues.
