Job summary

Brookside Rehab & Nursing Center is hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant/Floor Tech to help keep our facility clean, safe, and welcoming. The role focuses on floor care and painting throughout resident areas, hallways, and common spaces.

Responsibilities include floor stripping, waxing, painting, surface prep, and touch-ups, plus general maintenance and adherence to safety policies. Healthcare experience is helpful but not required; strong work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous floor care and painting experience preferred.
• Experience operating floor machines is a plus.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care duties including stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing floors.
• Operate floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Paint resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other facility spaces.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching, sanding, and cleaning.
• Complete touch-up painting and cosmetic repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with general facility maintenance projects as assigned.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies.
• Help ensure the facility maintains a welcoming appearance for residents and visitors.
