The Floor Attendant owns the floor at Cōpa: food gets to the table hot and correct, tables turn fast, and the dining room, patios, and restrooms stay guest-ready all shift. This is the role guests see most after they order, so hospitality is as much the job as the cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Run food and drinks from the kitchen and espresso bar to dine-in tables and both patios, matching each ticket before it leaves the pass.
- Name each item at the table and confirm the guest has what they need before walking away.
- Bus and reset tables within minutes of a guest leaving; pre-bus finished plates and glassware during the visit.
- Check restrooms on a set schedule, clean and restock them, and initial the restroom log.
- Keep dining room floors, patios, entry, and glass clean; handle spills immediately.
- Maintain the condiment, water, and self-service stations.
- Greet guests on the floor, open doors, offer high chairs, refill water, and help guests find seating.
- Notice and fix small problems before a guest asks: a wobbly table, a missing utensil, a long wait.
- Tell the manager on duty right away about any guest complaint or allergy concern.
- Run bus tubs to the dish area and help keep clean glassware and plates stocked.
- Empty trash in guest areas; keep the patio and drive-through lane free of litter.
- Reset the room for the café-to-bar changeover and complete opening and closing side work.
- Deliver alcoholic drinks to tables on evening shifts (age 18+); does not mix or pour.
Requirements
- No experience required; busser, food runner, or host experience is a plus.
- Age 16+; age 18+ for evening shifts that involve delivering alcohol.
- Food handler training within 30 days of hire.
- Warm and attentive with guests; makes eye contact and speaks first.
- Keeps moving and stays organized without being told what to do next.
- Reliable, on time, and available for some weekends.
Physical demands
- Stand, walk, and carry for a full shift of up to 8 hours, indoors and on the patios.
- Lift and carry up to 30 lbs, including loaded trays and bus tubs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and wiping; use of cleaning chemicals with provided protective gear.
- Work outdoors on the patios in heat, cold, and weather.
Growth path
