Provide civil engineering and drainage experience and knowledge to project execution and control on civil engineering and drainage projects to achieve continuity of purpose. Perform and/or review hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of drainage and flood control projects. Responsible for drainage design, including, but not limited to the design of storm sewers, culverts, bridge deck drainage and roadside ditches. Perform storm water management system and pond design. Serve as a technical liaison with client on project efforts. Provide support to city staff on drainage related issues. Assist citizens, as well as, developers with questions concerning FEMA firm maps and drainage issues in the city. Provide technical assistance to regional drainage communities such as watershed steering committee. Knowledge and ability to support FEMA's Risk MAP Production and Technical Services contract, Hazard Mitigation Technical Assistance Program and other related contracts with the U.S. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Directly supervise full time employees (Engineering Technicians, EITs, and/or PEs). Responsible for formulating preliminary department budget.
