Job summary

DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking an Associate Underwriter for the Flood Division. You will assist with account quoting and binding, prepare communications, and provide quality customer service through the underwriting life cycle.

Travel up to 10% as needed to shadow and interact with brokers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business or related field, 0–1 year underwriting or insurance experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, finance, business or a related field preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Able to work independently for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Process submissions by providing account triage for Underwriters.
• Provide backup support for Underwriters when traveling in the market.
• Gather and compile information required to quote and/or bind an account.
• Generate, edit, and send out correspondence on behalf of the Underwriters.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of underwriting principles and risk characteristics.
• Assist in learning market dynamics and product differences.
