Job summary

SouthState Bank in Colorado is seeking a Teller/FSR to serve as a full-service, single point of contact for banking needs in the branch. You will provide exceptional transactional and account-management service, process deposits and withdrawals, and promote self-service options.

You will identify customer needs, explain products and pricing, and maintain accurate records while complying with banking regulations. Travel to nearby offices may be required to cover staffing needs.

Qualifications

• One year of teller or cash handling experience and six months customer relationship building or sales experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in the Teller II and basic FSR job functions.
• Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods.
• Travel may be required to attend meetings or training.

• Serve as a full-service, single point of contact for SouthState customers’ financial needs in the branch
• Provide exceptional transactional and account-management customer service as both Teller and FSR
• Attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and contribute to the bank’s financial growth
• Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to service standards
• Explain bank products, services, benefits, rules, regulations, and pricing
• Identify customer needs and make referrals to expand customer relationships
• Ensure compliance with Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act, and other banking regulations
• Explain and enroll customers in self-service technology options
• Process savings, checking, and loan-account transactions
• Maintain an orderly work area and guide or train new tellers as needed
• Provide safe-deposit-box access, cash checks, process withdrawals, sell certified checks, and balance transactions daily
• Service or balance ATMs and use the branch capture system as needed
• Follow transaction, workflow, security, audit, and operational procedures
• Open new deposit accounts and handle stop payments, wire transfers, and other account-maintenance functions within assigned limits
• Explain policies and procedures and resolve customer problems and complaints
• Direct difficult problems to appropriate assistance sources
• Maintain accurate and timely branch records, reports, and correspondence
• Float to different offices in the area to accommodate staffing needs
• Perform vault or backup vault responsibilities as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers
• Completion of SouthState Way New Team Member Orientation, Teller Foundations, Banker Foundations, assigned Regulatory Compliance Training, and policy acknowledgements through DocuSign
• Travel may be required to attend meetings or training as needed
