Job summary

Camden National Corp. is seeking a courteous Teller to provide friendly customer service while handling cash, deposits, withdrawals and routine transactions across our Maine banking network.

You’ll rely on product knowledge to support sales referrals and maintain accurate records, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance and teamwork. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate teller software and multi‑line devices.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information.
• Mathematical Skills: Add/subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide with 10s and 100s.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense and handle basic problems in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Display working knowledge of bank application software to obtain customer information, balances, transactions.
• Serve customers in a cordial manner and foster a positive customer experience.
• Process a variety of transactions with judgment on validity.
• Ref items outside own authority to a supervisor or manager.
• Accept deposits, verify cash and endorsements, issue receipts, process withdrawals.
• Process deposits and payments by mail, night drop, and ATM.
• Maintain a satisfactory proving record.
• Assist customers with consumer and business products.
• Adhere to Teller policies and procedures.
• Answer calls and respond to caller needs.
• Demonstrate teller processing knowledge and end-of-day procedures.
• Understand Vault procedures.
