Job summary

The Goddard School of Ashland, VA is seeking Floating Teachers to join our team. Roles are available part-time and full-time to support our early childhood program and ensure a safe, enriching learning environment for children.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, support social and emotional development, and foster positive family relations. Requirements include 1–2 years of experience, background check eligibility, dependability, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of previous experience preferred.
• Meets background check eligibility.
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children.
• Is dependable and adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children and for safety and program support. For Infant/Young Toddler roles, lifting infants into/out of a crib.

• Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
• Supporting each child’s social and emotional development.
• Establishing positive and effective family relations.
• Working with the classroom teachers and in conjunction with the entire faculty.
