Job summary

Ascension in the Austin area is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support multiple locations. The role involves preparing the operating suite, handing instruments to the surgeon, and assisting with patient positioning and draping throughout procedures.

Candidates must have BLS within 30 days, NCCT NBSTSA credentials, or equivalent, plus a high school diploma with relevant experience or an associate/technical degree.

Qualifications

• BLS provider within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• NCCT Surgical Tech credentialed prior to hire or NBSTSA credentialed within 6 months of hire date.
• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative experience.
• 2 years scrub experience; proficiency in varied service lines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and instruments.
• Hand required instruments to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments and monitor instrument counts throughout procedures.
