Qualifications

• CDA preferred and High School Diploma required or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
• Has completed state-required pre-service training.
• Knowledge of childcare programming, safety and first-aid.
• Strong relationship-building and communication with children, parents and staff.
• Dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with good listening and follow-up.
• Ability to multitask and maintain smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Support lead and assistant teachers across multiple classrooms as needed.
• Step into classrooms to maintain ratios and continuity of care.
• Assist with age-appropriate activities and routines.
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment for all children.
• Help manage transitions including arrivals and meals.
• Foster positive interactions and model appropriate behavior.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of classroom spaces.
• Follow licensing, health, and safety procedures.
• Observe children and report concerns to staff.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Adapt quickly to different ages, schedules and classroom needs.
• Assist with classroom coverage during staff breaks or absences.
