Job summary

Superior Materials LLC, part of Votorantim Cimentos North America, seeks a plant operator support/relief for the primary plant supervisor in Farmington Hills, MI. You will coordinate daily operations, run batch panels, monitor materials, and assist in maintenance and repairs to ensure timely deliveries.

Ideal candidates have MCA Level 1 or can obtain it within 6 months, and can work extended hours including weekends. Travel to other plants may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum MCA Level 1 Technician or ability to pass within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of materials and equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant).
• Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out, and confined space procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily plant operations and personnel.
• Operate computerized batch panel.
• Monitor raw material feed, truck availability and sequencing to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
• Oversee cleaning of mixer, chutes, conveyors, catwalks and other plant areas to prevent material build-up.
• General housekeeping of batch office.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems in the plant.
• Verify lubrication of all plant equipment and document.
• Perform minor repairs of plant equipment.
• Assist in emergency repair situations of plant.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Know basic office machinery.
• Record keeping, maintain files, answer phones and data entry.
• Provide directions to drivers using radio equipment and mapping software.
• Coordinate daily functions with various operations.
