ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM is seeking a Phlebotomist to float across locations, performing blood draws and processing laboratory orders. The role emphasizes patient comfort, accurate handling, and collaboration with clinical teams.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and preferred phlebotomy certification. You will work in Laboratory or Family Care/Ambulatory Care Clinic settings, with a focus on safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification through an approved agency preferred (ASCP/NCA/NCPT).
• Previous direct patient care experience preferred.
• Ability to wear PPE and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Processes laboratory orders and performs phlebotomy procedures with minimal patient discomfort.
• Prioritizes requests by urgency and uses the Lab Information System to manage orders.
• Performs POC testing including CLIA waived testing and QC.
• Trains and mentors staff when competency is achieved.
• Maintains professional conduct and complies with policies and procedures.
