Job summary

Job Juncture seeks a phlebotomist to support multiple locations in the Albany area on a contract basis. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and maintaining accurate patient information. The role requires phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced setting.

The float position covers Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed where required.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collect specimens according to protocol.
• Label specimens, centrifuge, and properly handle decontamination steps.
• Record maintenance data and update patient information as required.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure sample integrity.
• Package specimens for transport and store per temperature requirements.
