Job description

Starting Pay is $29.11/hour + 5% Shift Differential

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, has an opening for a Floating Operator for our 2nd shift operations, working full-time from Monday to Thursday, with potential work on Fridays based on workloads.

Urschel employees design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and related industries worldwide, from our global headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Our advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized in our climate-controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

A day in the life of a Floating Operator involves performing a variety of production tasks across the shop as assigned by the production manager or department supervisors. Responsibilities include operating machine tools such as manual or CNC machine tools, hydraulic presses, parts markers, and cut-off saws.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of related experience and/or training. Candidates should be able to interpret engineering prints and blueprints, solve math equations, and address practical problems involving a variety of variables in standardized situations.
