Job description

We are currently hiring for Floating Multiple Cell Team Leader 1st Shift

As a Floating Cell Team Leader at Regal Rexnord Cleveland, your focus will be to provide guidance and support on an ongoing basis to production associates within the manufacturing environment. The success of the person in this role is vital to the continuous improvement efforts in the area(s), as well as the success of Regal Rexnord to meet and exceed customer expectations. This is a “working leader” where 90% of their time floating to operate within a team-based manufacturing cell.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

  1. Float between assigned cells as directed by the supervisor, to provide coverage for absent Team Leader to keep business continuously strong.
  2. When all assigned leads are present, floating lead is assigned to a work center that needs additional resources in terms of: staff for production, assigned to learn/train on a work center where knowledge increase is needed, or other production related tasks as assigned.
  3. Ensure the work area and associates assigned to work area always maintain the appropriate level of 6S and the Cell Daily Management boards are updated on a regular basis.
  4. Coordinate with Supervisors to ensure a safe working environment exists at all times.
  5. Retraining associates when necessary to ensure appropriate safety behavior is established, understood, and recognized.
  6. All safety concerns should be brought to Supervision immediately.
  7. Assume a floating lead role covering multiple areas in escalating any quality concerns or defects that may develop throughout the shift.
  8. Champion standard work methodology and ensure consistent standard work is followed on a consistent method.
  9. Identify and problem-solve when it is not.
  10. May assist and govern the training of new associates to ensure consistency and transferred understanding.
  11. Training will include, but is not limited to appropriate methods of standard work and rotation, changeover and setup of machines, maintaining and operating machines, understanding daily priorities (including safety start-up check sheets, first piece process, audit and end of shift JRA review/clean up), ensuring the correct procedures are followed to produce quality parts, completing the necessary paperwork throughout the shift, training and clarifying company policies and procedures, and updating Cell Daily Management boards daily.
  12. Lead by example and provide coaching to all associates as needed to ensure all policies and procedures are followed during the shift.
  13. If the coaching does not prove to be effective, notify the Supervisor for additional guidance and support.
  14. Maintain an open line of communication with fellow associates to communicate concerns or ideas to Supervision in a timely manner.
  15. Meet with supervision as needed to address any concerns.
  16. Interface with the assigned cell Team Leader(s) to pass on relevant information.
  17. May be required to spend limited time on an alternate shift(s) for training and understanding of daily priorities.
  18. Subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation.
  19. Other duties as required.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED. Certificate from college or technical school preferred.

Experience: Expert level machinist for multiple types of manufacturing cells, that take up at least ½ of the manufacturing footprint in the building.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
