Indiana University Health's laboratories provide 24/7 testing and support for hospitals and physicians across Indiana. The Medical Laboratory Technician assists with testing on patient specimens and contributes to accurate results under supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining performance records and following SOPs, with opportunities to participate in procedure development. This role requires appropriate degrees or certifications and offers a pathway to growth within IU Health's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science (Certification not required).
• Associate degree requires certification (NCA, AMT, ASCP, HEW, and CLA) within 12 months of employment.
• Knowledge of various laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory testing on patient specimens.
• Provide information for diagnosis and treatment under direction.
• Maintain records of performance and generate acceptable test results.
• Perform tasks according to standard operating procedures.
• Assist with development and modification of procedures.
• Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management or the laboratory director.
