Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification to meet Meaningful Use requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam by taking and recording vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor procedures (blood pressure, vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs).
• Coordinates patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicates results to patient.
• Provides clerical support with medical records and billing data.
• Maintains clean exam rooms and sterilizes equipment per OSHA guidelines.
• Orders supplies and manages medications and recalls.
