Siemens is seeking a dynamic individual with proven experience to join our team in La Mirada, CA, managing over 2,500 SKUs sourced from our factories in the US, Mexico, overseas, and third-party suppliers. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Supervisor will oversee the Shipping and Receiving Department at our La Mirada Distribution Center, supervising 10-15 unionized hourly employees per shift. The primary goal is to manage the shift efficiently to meet daily output targets while upholding safety and quality standards. You will also be the first point of contact for employee relations concerns and responsible for developing your team.

Position Details

The typical shift is from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility based on business needs. This role is based at our La Mirada Distribution Center.

Role Responsibilities

1. Evaluate daily operational bottlenecks and determine labor needs to maintain performance.
2. Maintain accurate Time and Attendance records weekly.
3. Provide regular feedback to employees on performance metrics.
4. Enforce company policies, code of conduct, and safety guidelines, including progressive discipline.
5. Create a motivating and productive work environment.
6. Report shift performance against plans before and after shifts.
7. Standardize operational processes across shifts, participate in 5S audits, and provide feedback.
8. Spend at least 75% of time on the shop floor supporting personnel and managing workflow.
9. Ensure effective handoffs to the next shift, including notes on WIP, 5S, and inventory issues.
10. Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
11. Resolve conflicts proactively, involving management when necessary.
12. Enforce work rules fairly and promptly.
13. Provide bi-annual formal feedback to team members.
14. Foster a culture of ownership, positivity, energy, and collaboration.
15. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics Management preferred.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a large distribution setting.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean certifications such as Kaizen or 5S.
• Experience managing union environments.
• Experience in fast-paced warehouse settings.
