Job summary

Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital seeks a full-time floating social worker for its Inpatient and Residential Treatment Programs. The role follows the Sanctuary Model to guide trauma-informed care and requires MSW/LMSW/LCSW with Missouri licensure.

A strong emphasis on collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and thorough documentation is essential. Responsibilities include biopsychosocial assessments, admission/discharge processes, therapy with individuals and families, and discharge

Qualifications

• Experience providing services to youth and families with severe mental health concerns.
• Working knowledge of DSM, evidence-based practices and social work ethics.
• Degree in Social Work (MSW/LMSW/LCSW); LCSW preferred; licensed in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments (initial and annual).
• Complete admission and discharge paperwork.
• Provide individual and family therapy and lead groups; complete documentation.
• Write monthly/weekly progress notes.
• Provide case management and discharge planning.
• Conduct suicide and other risk assessments as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to document and orient treatment.
• Participate in discharge and legal processes as necessary.
• Disseminate pertinent information to treated departments inside and outside the facility.
