Job summary

The YMCA of Central Massachusetts seeks a Floating Infant/Toddler/Preschool Teacher at Boroughs Family Branch. Under supervision, you will guide the classroom and implement a curriculum that promotes social, cultural, educational, physical and emotional growth, aligning with YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring.

Responsibilities include planning daily activities, supervising staff and children, communicating with families, and maintaining records and materials.

Qualifications

• Meets DEEC/NAEYC/QRIS standards.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Preferred associate degree or enrollment in a college degree program.
• CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention certifications required.
• Experience with children in developmentally appropriate settings preferred.
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Proficiency in ASL strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans for developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Supervises the children, classroom, Teacher Assistants, and all activities; ensures care and safety.
• Makes ongoing observations and evaluations according to schedule; maintains records.
• Conducts parent conferences and engages parents as volunteers.
• Maintains classroom and equipment; posts schedules, curriculum, and menus as required.
• Attends family nights, staff meetings, trainings and YMCA events.
• Performs additional duties to support YMCA mission and Child Care Department.
