Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under supervision across Middlesex/Northern Monmouth County offices.

This float position requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments, with emphasis on patient confidentiality and accurate data entry.

The role includes patient prep, vital signs, basic tests, and coordination with nursing staff, with comprehensive benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, and/or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant or National Certification (or equivalent) and AHA BLS certification are required

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam and treatment rooms and supplies.
• Prepare patients for physician visits and examinations.
• Take patient’s vital signs and record in medical chart.
• Understands proper function and care of equipment.
• Perform basic tests (EKG, PFT, Audiometry) as indicated.
• Maintain records by completing patient records and reports.
• Assists with collections/billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identify and respond to confidentiality issues.
• Communicate with patient and caregiver at appropriate level.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
